Hi everyone,

Just a quick note to let you know that I checked-in support for
localizing Gecko .properties files a couple weeks ago. This brings
localizability to about half of the Gecko strings.

However, there are definitely a few (and maybe more) files currently
included that either are never used by code in Camino, or which are
used but where the calling code ignores our override mechanism.
We'll eventually be removing these files a few at a time as we find
them (css.properties is one) so be aware of that if you get started
right away. If you want to get started right away, certainly start
first with those files you can easily test (e.g., necko.properties,
appstrings.properties; those both should work). I've started going
through the 36 files myself, checking through the Gecko source to see
where the originals are called, but between the holidays in the US
and real life, I haven't made much progress in a while.

Also, we're looking at releasing Camino 2.0 Beta 1 sometime this
month (this has the much anticipated tab dragging in it). Right now
the localization freeze is scheduled for Beta 2 (probably February?),
but I'll keep you updated as we get closer. We are not expecting a
lot of string changes (or new strings) beyond the new version of
Sparkle and the Gecko strings stuff--the Breakpad crash reporting
client will probably be the biggest set of new strings left--but we
are tweaking a number of nibs here and there so that you'll have to
re-merge your translations into the updated nibs....
