Hi everyone,
As we get ready to start the march to Camino 2.0 (the first alpha
release should be in the next week), we're also picking up a
brand-new version of Sparkle, the software update framework we use.
Unfortunately, many of the localizations that existed for the old
version of Sparkle haven't been updated for the new Sparkle 1.5.
I've been asked to pass along the Sparkle developer's request for
assistance in getting the localizations ready for 1.5. It looks like
German, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Russian, and Swedish have
had someone working on them at one point in the Sparkle 1.5 cycle and
are probably up-to-date (it's hard to tell the status of the
localizations, unfortunately), but all the rest will need to to be
worked on.
Since many of you will be doing the work to localize Sparkle for
Camino's use anyway, if you want to contribute those translations
back, it will help out all of the other applications that use
Sparkle, too. If you don't want to hassle with bzr and launchpad
(used for Sparkle development, <http://launchpad.net/sparkle>) to
submit your translations, Stuart Morgan has offered to handle
upstreaming them for you.
Thanks,
Smokey
