Hello everyone,
It's time for another thrilling Camino schedule update :-P
As I wrote yesterday
(http://www.ardisson.org/afkar/2009/05/17/camino-2009-week-19-20/),
we decided late last week we needed to add
another beta to the Camino 2.0 schedule (and
consequently move the l10n freeze along with it).
We're very close to having usable crash reporting
with Breakpad, and we'd like to get that into the
hands of as many users as possible as soon as
possible. We still have a fair amount of work to
do on safebrowsing and Tabsposé (as well as an
assortment of other bugs that affect l10n), so it
makes more sense to ship a new beta soon and move
feature/l10n freeze to a Beta 4 later in the
summer when those other features will be
finished. Our current plan is to ship b3 close to
the end of this month.
For Camino 1.6.8, we plan to ship with the next
Gecko 1.8.0.x release in the mid-June timeframe.
We currently have about 3 Camino bugs targeted
for 1.6.8 (one of them being an ad-blocking
update); if enough of you are going to be on
holiday already (or otherwise busy) in early
June, I can try to get the release notes
more-or-less ready so that you can have a version
of them translated before you go; let me know.
If you have gotten started with Camino 2
translations with the betas and plan to keep on
with Beta 3, please note that the Breakpad UI
("Camino Crash Reporter") is all .strings-based
and the application dynamically resizes the
window to fit the localized strings; there's no
need to change any layout in the .nib itself.
As always, let me know if there are any
questions, and thanks for all your work.
