[Conkeror] conkeror-xr: is it just me, or does M-: not work?

Conkeror/xulrunner 0.42.42.20071101 (git), M-: doesn't do anything,
but M-x eval-expression works fine.

If I do a

define_key(top_kmap, kbd (";",MOD_META),"eval-expression");

(semicolon instead of colon) all of a sudden, M-: works.  Noting that
colon is just shift-semicolon on us-qwerty, is this just a
shift-handling bug in the modifier code?
