I believe you can use M-x firefox to open the normal firefox chrome in a
new window. However, this in general should not be necessary. The
preferences menu can be accessed using M-x customize, and the extensions
menu can be accessed using M-x extensions.

You can use C-x C-b to display a list of the open buffers (tabs).

You can type ESC to remove focus from the input field. There is
essentially no real way any web browser interface can get around this
problem, although we hope to shortly provide (in a new version of
conkeror) a prominent indicator that conkeror is in a sort of "text
field input mode", and that keys will work a bit different.
Additionally, we'll try to provide an option to prevent web pages from
setting focus to a text field automatically.

Currently there is no way around this, although I plan to implement
shortly commands that will allow you to send the next key press directly
to the web page, rather than have it processed by conkeror, or
alternatively, a mode you can switch into such that all keys are given
directly to the web page.
