[Conkeror] Conkeror in Offline mode after installation

Hi to all

I just switched from the Firefox plugin to the xulrunner version
yesterday. Great improvements. Congratulations.

My problem.

On my second computer, the one in my office which connects to the
internet via a proxy, Conkeror runs, but refuses to connect to the
internet. It displays a message reading:

,----
| Offline Mode
|
| This document cannot be displayed while offline. To go online, uncheck
| Work Offline from the File menu.
|
| The browser is operating in its offline mode and cannot connect to the
| requested item.
|
| * Is the computer connected to an active network?
| * Place the browser in online mode and try again.
`----

I think this message is a relict from Firefox times, since there is no
File menue in Conkeror.

But what could be the problem? I set the http-proxy via about:config.
But still the same. Reinstallation and deleting ~/.conkeror.modzev.org
doesn't change anything.

Both my machines run Debian Etch. I installed Conkeror on each in the
same way, following the installation guide on the Conkeror homepage. I
took the linked binaries of xulrunner and the snapshot of of Conkeror
(not git).

When I start Conkeror on the problematic machine from a shell I get
the following error message:

,----
| sven at relwi-sven:~$ ~/bin/conkeror/conkeror
| [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80520001
| (NS_ERROR_FILE_UNRECOGNIZED_PATH) [nsILocalFile.initWithPath]"
| nsresult: "0x80520001 (NS_ERROR_FILE_UNRECOGNIZED_PATH)" location:
| "JS frame :: chrome://conkeror-modules/content/rc.js :: load_rc ::
| line 60" data: no]
`----

All I understand of this message is that a path was not found. The
file rc.js is extant in the folder ~/bin/conkeror/modules. Could this
message be connected to Conkerors refusal to go online?

Thanks for help which is impatiently awaited since I miss my Conkeror so
much

Sven
