The object class prefixes should be given as prefixes.  So you should
type:

i f

or 

i c

It is done this way because once you type a command like f or c, what
you type next serves to limit the elements that are highlighted to only
those with associated text that contains all of the words that you have
typed.

I can understand your confusion regarding this, due to the lack of
documentation.
