[Conkeror] gtk problems

Hello.

I am trying to set up conkeror on my linux box.

When I try to run xulrunner-stub in the conkeror directory I get a
pop-up saying:

We're sorry this application requires a version of the GTK+ library
that is not installed on your computer.

You have GTK+ 2.8.
This application requires GTK+ 2.10 or newer.
So I spent a lot of time trying to make libgtk 2.10 available to apt
but Im facing hurdles like MMAP out of error and what not.

Any clues/tips will be appreciated
I am running debian etch.
