Hi.
I am using the extension "Modify Headers" version 0.5.4 and I like it
very much! I use it to expose
firefox as a Mobile Device and testing Mobile Sites (setting a specific
User-Agent and Mobile Phone Number).
But I am missing one feature and was also not able to find another firefox
plugin or extension that would fulfill my requirement:
I miss the ability to set / overwrite any HTTP RESPONSE header. "Modify
Headers" can set / overwrite the HTTP REQUEST header only.
Use Case: Some Mobile Devices support a feature called MultiPartMime. This
means a Website will send all images of a requested URL in some kind of a
single ZIP file to the mobile device, so the device does not need to request
every single image (e.g. bullets) individually which causes significant delays
(latency) in loading a full page. Firefox does not support the Content-Type
"MultiPartMime" and can therefore not display any pages for mobiles that get
MultiPartMime content from a site. Therefore I need to set / overwrite the
RESPONSE Header "Content-Type" to a standard value, so firefox can interpret
the http response and display the site.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thanks and kind regards
Jan Kruse
