[Enigmail] Can enigmail work with HTML messages in Thunderbird?

I guess this is off topic, but now I have scouted the Tool/Options
window and I can't for the life of me find where the setting is that
forces TB into plain text...
Can anyone with TB on Windows hint where I should go to re-enable HTML
emails?
I would actually want to use HTML as default also for composing, but be
able to change to plaintext if I want to use enigmail for encryption.
But it looks like I have permanently crippled Thunderbird (1.5.0.12).
