The Thunderbird 2.0 update is painless and preserves your current  
profile.  If downloading the 6Mb installer is a problem for you,  
please feel free to drop me an email off-list and I'll get a CD to  
you in the mail.  (It'll take some time, of course, international  
mail being what it is.)
