that's a misunderstanding: neither uninstalling nor installing Enigmail
has any influence on its configuration. While the program either (typically)
resides in profile's extensions directory (or if globally installed in
program's extension directory), all user configuration is stored in TB's
prefs.js / user.js files within the profile's main directory.
So uninstalling and reinstalling should resemble the compiler conflict yet
leave you with all your (TB and EM) configuration.
