Hi folks,

since I 'started' this thread, I'm trying to sum it up:

On a Windows system

- - if GnuPG is used mostly for Enigmail, the Enigmail team recommends
  http://www.gnupg.org/(en)/download/index.html#auto-ref-2 , the standard
GnuPG installer (currently 1.4.7). This software is sufficient for most
users that just want to use GnuPG for Email Security.

- - as an alternative, especially if some of the bundled software is needed,
http://www.gpg4win.org/ may be used aswell. Since older versions were
not compatible after a vanilla install, one must use the latest versions
of both Enigmail (>=0.95.3) and GPG4Win (>=1.1.3). Per default GPG4Win
doesn't install GnuPG 2.0 and its use on Windows is explicitely NOT
recommended, neither by the authors of GnuPG nor by the Enigmail team.

Somehow this is what I said in the first place, just a bit more elaborate.
