First of all, I apologize for using the term "geezer". It does not mean
to be disrespectful, just factual.
Although I am not a grandmother, I am a 76 years old grandfather.
I am far from mastering the use of PGP, and my learning of mathematics
in high school is definitely a thing of the past, although here and
there some fossilized remnants still pop up from time to me.
No computer sciences at the time. Maybe there were computers already?
I started back in [don't remember the year, hey I am a grandfather] with
PGP 2.• for the Mac, an unholy marriage between a graphic shell and a
makeshift CLI, that worked! Well, most of the time.
I taught myself by reading the Manual (sorry for that), and by picking
the brains of compassionate mailing lists members, which I still do.
I have not tried to teach my wife (a grandmother in good standing) PGP,
she is more interested in PowerPoint where she is pretty much
proficient, whereas I am a hopeless klutz.
I have all reasons to believe (I swear I have never worked at the State
Department) that over the wide world, there are more geezers that have
learned to use PGP.
And a fine week end to all.
Charly
