[Enigmail] Signature Separator Conflict

I am running Enigmail version 0.95.6 (20080101) in Thunderbird version
2.0.0.6 (20070728) with gpg (GnuPG) 1.4.7

I have searched the list archives and the project website and I have
been unable to locate a solution to the following problem.

I create a plain text email and add a personal signature (see example at
the end of this post), then I sign the message with Enigmail (without
PGP/MIME enabled) and send the message.

When I view the message normally my personal signature appears correctly
prefixed with a line consisting of 2 dashes & 1 space, as per RFC 3676
Sect. 4.3

If I view the message source the line prefixing my personal signature
appears as "- --" (1 dash, 1 space, 2 dashes).

This corruption only occurs if messages are signed with Enigmail.

Is this a known issue, or is my configuration screwed up in some way?

TIA

Dave
