Your correspondent is using PGP/MIME which fortunately for You is easily
digested by Thunderbird/Enigmail.  IIRC, FireGPG also can decrypt
PGP/MIME [I noticed You are sending from the Gmail interface].  Should
Your colleague begin using PGP/MIME with a correspondent attempting to
read the Email using Outlook, Outlook Express or Windows Mail
frustration is certain to ensue.  :)
