I have now downloaded and I am testing:
Running Enigmail version 0.96a (20090204-0836)
Shredder 3.0b2pre thunderbird-3.0b2pre.en-US.mac.dmg 03-Feb-2009 03:46
(the previous release of Shredder I had tested a few weeks ago was
3.0b2pre released January 5, 2009, which I discontinued testing because
too unstable - reported about it).

Debug test shows in Console (sorry for the long copy/paste):

Note: the bit about "Good signature from "Frank Swatland
<fswat at yahoo.com>"" is a bit baffling, because I performed the test with
one of my keys. The result of the debug test was ".....is performing
correctly..."

1. Menu/OpenPGP does not crash the application
2. gpg-agent works correctly.
3. your name (before the e-mail address) as displayed in the line
....wrote the following) is replaced by an interrogation mark with a
black background, most probably because I have not set Shredder to
properly display characters like the ü (umlaut /u/) as in your last
name. I'll see to that later.

Yes I know about Shredder, please see above remarks.

Done, and so far tests seem to be OK.
thanks to you all.
