Then go to Start->Run
type %appdata% (with percent signs)
Explore the Mozilla then Firefox folder or even do a search rooted in this folder... it will be quicker...

and look for googlebar.jar

" I restarted Firefox and it appeared. "  I guess this now means the googlebar is there. Ok... as long as we are straight... that the Googlebar is working... which wasn't clear. You said no trace of it anywhere...

You just want to see the files.
