Go to the googlebar menu, select "Googlebar options..." and you'll see the version numbers beside the logo.

* You can also check before installing. (maybe for experts.)
1) Download the extension. (not install)
2) Unzip the XPI file.
3) Open the install.rdf file with a text editor.
4) Somewhere around the 10th line, you'll see the version number.
