O.K. I had a closer look now. I have check the navigator.platform 
property in the JavaScript console as that is easily accessible and I 
think it is the same value as Install.platform inside an install script.

Firefox 1.5.0.3 (universal) reports "MacIntel"
Thunderbird 1.5.0.2 (PPC) reports "MacPPC"
SeaMoney 1.0.1 (universal) reports "MacIntel"

So it is MacPPC for anything running on Rosetta...
