That would be nice. I don't know if there's any procedure for inheriting defunct projects, though. David, does mozdev have one? At worst, you could start a new mozdev project "MDHashTool+". At best, David could grant you commit privs to the existing project.

By the way, I have a lot I could contribute to this project as well (coming from my PasswordMaker extension at http://passwordmaker.org). Let me know if you'd like a partner.

The maintainer has not replied to any for months and I have tried to
email as well with no reply.

I have maintained this addon personally for almost a year and seeing
that everyone on the MD Hash Tool mailing list is complaining about no
help I thought I could step in and do this.

Please let me know ASAP seeing I already have a working version for FF 2.0.6
