Morbus,
Thanx for attempting to help. In my case, as for the log box, cancel
seems to "click down" but does nothing. This indicates the window has
focus. Ok doesnot even click down. The interface code is severly buggy.
As for the save file name, I have tried to find the junk name in the
About:config list, but it does not seem to be there. Maybe you can
give me the parameter name ?
I have now spent about 2 hours trying to get Slogger to do something,
anything. I have reinstalled Firefox 4 times. I feel frustrated and
guess I will give up until it grows up. I don't want to be unkind, but
I have a Ph.d. in comp sci and so am more sophisticated than most "Joe
Users", but I feel that most "free" software should be called
"riddleware" rather than "freeware", because it will work if you prove
that you are smart enough to solve the "riddle" the programmer has
left for you - eg. for Linux I must have handcoded about 20 XF86Config
files in my life.
Re. Firefox, My frustration was increased by the lack of
uninstallation instructions, and digging round the system to find all
the files to wipe before each reinstallation to try and re-install
Slogger again.
Out of sheer despair, I tried to locate a version of Firefox that will
run under Mac Os X Xwindows, but have been unable to locate one.
Anyone have a Firefox that runs under X on PowerPC; Mac OS X ?
So far my experience is that Firefox is cross-system, provided you have a PC.
