[Slogger] Auto-logging in latest version?

Hi all,
I love Slogger; it's saved my rear end a couple of times when I couldn't 
find a handy page. I use it to create date-stamped files listing every 
page I access with a timestamp, and that's it.
But the question: in the latest version (0.5.11), it appears that the 
toolbar button must both exist and be activated to auto-log, and the 
setting is not saved across closing Firefox. This is a pain. Is there 
any way to make it always log, regardless of the button?
