I don't know how to recover the profile, but you might still have an old 
copy of your bookmarks file.  The old profile is probably still there;  
look for it and you should be able to copy either bookmarks.html or 
bookmarks.bak (renamed to bookmarks.html) to a different profile.  You 
can do this for your passwords too if you copy the right files and edit 
your prefs.js
