I think duplication of effort is something all of the Summer of Code
projects might have to deal with. I'll post something about this to
the summer at mozdev.org list.
As for your project, I'd recommend getting in touch with the people you
mentioned and see if they are still working on their projects. It's
possible that they are no longer involved and you can take over.
It's also possible that we can modify your deliverables slightly based
on what other people are doing. If Tran is working on localizing
Firefox 1.1, you could work on Firefox 1.0.4 or you could localize
Thunderbird or the Mozilla Suite.
